Things I've Learned - As an Army Wife.
- Everything is out of your control so just let it go.
- Take things 1 day and 1 step at a time. Being a military spouse means you will have good days, bad days, angry days, emotional days, and sometimes a combination of them all - but all you have to do is breathe and keep moving forward.
- Hurry up and wait.
- Put aside your personal feelings. Our soldiers are fighting a bigger battle than we are.
- As a military wife, we are expected to be strong and have faith. It's because of our soldiers that others can wake up to a new day.
- Memorize your soldiers social. You will need it EVERYWHERE you go.
- The Army will be your husbands mistress and sometimes, she will see him more than you do.
- No one cares what rank your soldier is. They want to get to know who you are!

The GORGEOUS Mrs. Holly
Holly won the no make-up contest I did about a month ago. The contestants had to send a picture in with no make-up on and she invited her friends and family to vote for her. Not only is she a wonderful person & client, she is also a good friend. Our husbands will be deploying together soon. Enjoy her pictures!

Mrs. Traci's Boudoir

Meet the Gill family
A little about me... I'm 25 years old and I was born and raised in South Georgia. We are now stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado. I married my best friend in 2006 and shortly after he deployed to Iraq. During his tour in Iraq, we had our first son at 29 weeks. He was 1 lb. and 15 oz. and spent 3 months in the NICU. He is now a healthy 4 year old and is the smartest little guy you have ever met. After we had him, my husband got out of active duty into the Reserves so he could take care of both of us. In October of 2009, we had our second little guy. He was 5 lbs. and 11 oz. Now he is a healthy almost 2 year old and is getting into the terrible 2's, lol. We decided it was best to go back Active duty and here we are. I love photography. It's my passion. I've been doing it "professionally" for almost a year and I love my job. I'm a stay at home mom and I am greatful to my husband for allowing me to do that.

Mini Sessions
I did a day of mini sessions for a few families at Willow Springs Pond. It's a beautiful place with a bridge every photographer loves to use. Here are a few previews. :)
Shelby is a new client and she has the most precious children! Robbie and Tiffany are the cutest siblings I have ever met in my life. He loves his little sister and it shows! I can't wait to work with them again!
Gloria and Kasey are a wonderful couple. They are good friends of ours and we love them to death... Haha, random fact... Her cat pees on the toilet. Seriously.
Meet Ashlynn. She is adorable and looks just like her mom! She has an adorable little brother and they are a wonderful family and repeating clients. I love them to pieces!
Chelsea contacted me about doing these sessions for Adrian. He is so sweet and smiled at everything! Since then, I've done a boudoir session with his mom and I can tell we're gonna be great friends!

Now, I'm such an awkward person, I've never had pictures done professionally before, and I was totally nervous. But after finally meeting Nicki, it got easier! She made it easier for us by directing us, and letting John be Mr. Humorous. To keep it short, I was more than satisfied with Nicki's work! I'd give her a 10 and a half if I could. (: Five stars from this happy customer! :D
Aubrey said: I got my pictures done shortly after Melissa... I did mine with my and my son for his one year pictures at Iron Horse Park on Ft Carson. I wasnt really sure what to do because I also never had them professionally done before but she let me know what to do for the most part and guided as we went, and they came out great!! Like the one she took with him on the ground and me making a shadow heart behind him. And she captured the most precious picture ever, Aaron passed out on the way back to the car and she stopped me before we parted and snapped it. Its gorgeous!
Jenny said: Nicki did an excellent job with my family and I! My son decided to not be very cooperative and wouldnt smile or look at the camera. She was very patient and laughed the whole way through. I left the session feeling bad that Damien hadnt been very photogenic but when I looked at the photos Nicki took I was so happy with the turnout! She used some awesome effects and made even my grumpy son look cute! I will definitely use her again!
